Esau drove his skidoo for two days in order to get this brilliant white stone from the quarry (near Igloolik)
His dangerous journey was fraught with obstacles like blizzards, white outs, roaming polar bears and broken ice.
Esau is one of my favourite carvers.
He is talented and innovative.
iLEFT RIGHT, LEFT RIGHT s a winsome vignette of a Mother polar bear leading her two cubs in a "game" of follow the leader.
She is really teaching them the skills they will need to survive.
All three bears are "embroidered" with etchings of Arctic animals and birds.
This is Esau's SIGNATURE.
The matte finish of the white stone shows of the magnificent motifs on the bodies of the bears.
